Does anyone know how to make the Christmas tree center piece using net tulle and a taper candle?
The net tulle was cut into strips of different widths, gathered and placed around the candle. Starting with the largest at the bottom of the candle and the smallest at the top of the candle forming a tree. A star was placed on the top of the candle, and small bells or ornaments were used to decorate the "tree". The tree was placed in a styrofoam base, with a small tree skirt it became the table centerpiece or decroation. This was very popular in the 1960s and 1970s.
Sounds like you answered your own question. Using your own directions, start with a 2" or wider width of tulle for the bottom and use narrower strips as you go up. That should work for the tree. You can attach with hot glue or double-sided tape or even short straight pins. For the base, I would use a styrofoam disk and cut a circle in the center the diameter of the candle base. Then have fun decorating!
