What is the name of a Blue Bird with a yelllow beak with red on it?
I live in Florida and there is this little bird at Lake Parker that always eats out of my hand and I was trying to figure out what the darn thing is called.
I disagree with the people who say Belted Kingfisher - that bird does not have a yellow and red beak, and it would not eat out of anyone's hand, since it eats mostly fish, crabs, crayfish, salamanders, lizards, mice, and insects.
It is more likely a Purple Gallinule (Porphyrula martinica) - Description 11-13" (28-33 cm). A strikingly colored, chicken-sized marsh bird. Purplish blue with green upperparts, white undertail coverts, yellowish-green legs, red-and-yellow bill, and light blue frontal shield.

In Florida, it could also be any of a number of escaped (feral) domestic species, such as finches. You did not say how small the bird is. An escaped pet would be the most likely bird to eat out of your hand.
