This Cake Is So Delicious And Moist
One of the best desserts that is both tasty, delicious and easy to make is angel food cake with a cake. It is so simple to create and it is usually a family favorite. If a bake sale is coming up at work this might be the hit of the entire sale. So grab your kitchen aid hand mixer and some ingredients and you can put this together in a little over half an hour.
Put an oven rack in the middle. In a large mixing bowl begin to froth twelve egg whites. An electric hand mixer will make this a quick step. Medium speed should do the job. Splash in a tablespoon of lemon zest. Then put in 1 and 1/2 teaspoons of extract of vanilla. This mixture should be beaten for 5 minutes.
Slowly add powder sugar in the amount of one and a half cups. Sift in one cup of flour while folding it into the mix with a spatula. Smooth out any lumps that may be created from the flour.
Take a ten inch nonstick cake pan for angel food and move the mixture into it. It will bake for up to forty five minutes. You will know that is done when it has browned on top. If you insert a toothpick into the cake it should come out clean. When it is done flip the cake pan over on a cooling rack and let it cool for about an hour.
Now that you have this moist and delicious cake you can decide on what to top it with. There are all kinds of sauces that can be made to taste. Most of these sauces can be made with any combination of flavors with a plain yogurt.
Angel food is such a light cake so don't try a frosting. The cake will not support this type of topping. Try using a cuisinart hand mixer or whisking some yogurt, lemon juice and honey together. This is a very light sauce that has a lot of flavor.
