Hamilton County, Indiana is a great place to be when it comes to July 4th celebrations in 2011. There are exciting festivities near every town and city in the county beginning the weekend before and ending with a bang on the 4th itself.

Starting on June 25 and 26 with some fun activities is the Fishers Freedom Festival. The Freedom Festival is held at the Roy G. Holland Memorial Park on the corner of Sunblest Boulevard and Ellipse Parkway in Fishers, Indiana. The event starts early Saturday morning with the 5k run and 2 mile family walk at 8 am followed by the opening ceremonies at 10 am. Beginning at 10:00am, there will be a variety of tents to visit including the children's tent, a charity basketball shoot, and the business vendors tent. The day will be filled with fun events such as a silent auction, water balloon launch, live entertainment for adults as well as kids, a beer and wine garden, a k-9 demonstration, bake-off, hot air balloon rides, and a street dance to finish off the evening.

Then, on Sunday, the day will begin with a nondenominational service in the entertainment tent from 8-9 am. After the service, the day will consist of the Indy Disc Dog Classic, a corn hole tournament, free game booths, arts and crafts, more live entertainment, the IU North Hospital children's parade, and many other tents and activities in the park. At 4:00pm on Sunday the 26th, the Comcast Main Parade will take place in downtown Fishers followed by the pre-fireworks band "Big Daddy Caddy" which will play until the fireworks begin at dusk.
