Angel investers for women owned Small Vintage clothing store.?
My credit is not the greatest and I need help with the first and last months rent on a lease for my store. I have'nt pursued searching because I don't have the startup costs. I do have the inventory because I have collected and worked as a partner in a store already. My startup costs are not over twentyfive thousand. Does anybody know of any women based angel investors. The only ones I have read about are for techinacal and huge co. Im just wanting my dream boutique. Please help if you have any info. And not sbc or whatever there called. They are not helpful.

Angels are small venture capitalists who usually want to invest 100k to a few million. They don't apply to your needs. Bad credit means an SBA or traditional loan is out, especially in this economy. However, you're a woman and that helps. If you're a minority that also helps. Look at taking on some partners in the business who will invest but leave you to manage it. They're usually called silent partners because they don't participate in managing the business day-to-day. They're only interested in profits. Try to structure a 5-7 year (or longer) payout so you're not strapped monthly trying to pay them. You need room to breathe and re-invest profits into the business to expand. Hit up friends and family to participate as well. If you've got an established reputation it helps. Finally, if none of these works, BUY a shop. In this market, you might find someone willing to finance the purchase for you. They get relief from operating the business and you assume ownership. Even if you have to pay a higher premium to do this, it might be worth it in your circumstance. There's your 10-point answer that will cost you nothing in consulting fees. (smile)

Vintage Costume Jewelry: Great Small Business Opportunity!
Authentic costume jewelry, originally made popular during the "Roaring Twenties", is considered a hot collector's item today and has rapidly appreciated in value in recent years. Vintage costume necklaces, bracelets, and other pieces were purchased by American soldiers in French boutiques and brought home after the first world war. U.S. companies began dominating costume jewelry design and manufacturing from the late 1920's onward. Signed vintage costume necklaces, rings, and other pieces are worth more money. Trifari, Coro, and dozens of American manufacturers soon began producing the designs and pieces that are some of the most prized collectibles on the vintage market today. The supply of vintage pieces is not evenly distributed which is a large reason why there is so much diversity in pricing. The jewelry itself was supplied by dozens of manufacturers. Batch sizes could vary dramatically from one company to the next. Coventry, Coro, and other larger manufacturers often made thousands of pieces for every design. On the other side of the coin, McClelland, DeMario and many of the smaller players might only produce a few hundred of each design. When other pricing variables are held constant, signed pieces from the small companies tend to be worth more money. Still, careful research is required because even larger manufacturers sometimes produced specialty batches. These were smaller batches making the pieces more valuable than others produced by the same company.
A piece of jewelry can be rare but command little demand for some reason or another which will greatly affect value. Basically, the higher the demand, the greater the price and vice versa.
